Does anybody actually use tags?

Posted by LiquidFreakStudios - November 22nd, 2023

I always spend a lot of time selecting the most important and relevant tags for my artworks when posting them to this site. I always use the maximum number of tags.

But I've been thinking... considering that this site has no algorithm to speak of...do tags even matter? Does anybody actually click on a tag in order to see artworks under that tag?

If so, then they are in for a little surprise...

Not a whole lot do but it is easier in searching for things you are looking for. Some do some dont

Yeah, that's true. Some tags are useful for finding stuff, others not so much... And if you are looking for something very specific, there aren't really any other options to search for it other than Google etc., but that covers all websites which you may not always want.

I mean personally, I use tags ALL the time .
They are incredibly convenient to use, and you can see all the fanart of a certain character you like or whatever really easily.

I guess they are useful for finding other people's art, especially a specific character or scenario. I haven't found them very useful for actually getting other people to discover your artworks though, despite the amount of time and care I put into picking the right words, though perhaps that is just me...

What the fuck is in the cock tag? I didn't know they got motion in that tag

Unspeakable horrors, and the occasional cute chicken. A very fowl tag for sure!

@LiquidFreakStudios Frankly,it is your choice. It sucks since the tags make the search real orderly and hassle-free but from what i see people either put in incomplete tags or ignore them mostly.

Yeah... I'll continue to use tags, to make finding my artworks more practical for those few people that use them, but it is a darn shame they don't get more use on this site.
